You know, its pretty bad in the world. I mean, its b a d, and it’s about to go BOOM. And here it is Christmas day. My kids are gone with my wife to visit her father, and have been gone for three days. I’ve been in my chair at my desk for three days installing 1,800 or so songs into my computer, and I’m a little stir crazy. I didn’t go because I have to stay home and feed the livestock – my fleet of 10 chickens. We had 12, but a hawk or a fox nabbed them.
These are my “end of the world” food producers, although I do not know what I will feed them when the end of the world shows up. They do produce a prodigious quantity of excellent eggs, let me tell you. I am inundated with them, so much so that I feed them to my dog and bury them in my garden to fertilize the soil. I give them to friends and eat three to six per day, plus whatever I can force my young sons to eat. Baby Nathan helps out, sometimes 18 at a time as he stands at the side door and throws them onto the side porch to burst and make a mess.
