Strait Is The Gate And Narrow Is The Way, And Few Are They Who Find It

This is a tremendously exciting scripture.  When one understands that we are called to accept Yahusha’s salvation and to follow the commands of Yahuah, the whole Bible lights up.

For example, last night I was teaching my sons Torah, reading from the front page of this website.  The part from the Book of Acts was a terrific teaching point, and one we are all to remember.

Acts 24:14 (NKJV) – “But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing (“believing” means doing) all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets.

Who wrote this?  Who is it that stated they worship Yahuah through believing all the law and the Prophets?

It was LUKE.  Luke, a gentile (and possibly Syrian) who NEVER MET YAHUSHA.

So you see, Luke was just like you and me.  He accepted the offer of salvation through Yahusha, possibly from the teaching of Shaul.  But whenever he was saved, He KEPT THE COMMANDS or the INSTRUCTIONS of Yahuah, same as Paul.

So here is yet another perfect example for all who claim to follow Yahusha.  If one claims to follow Yahusha, he will study and obey the commands of Yahusha, who only did the Will of His Father, which is stated in writing in the commands throughout the Word.

We are expected to study and live by all of the commands of Yahuah, throughout the first half of the Book, and by the commands of Yahusha in the second half of the Book.  We learn them by reading and study, and we will never get them all right – that’s why Yahusha came, remember?  We sin, or miss the mark, breaking or violating commands daily.

Strait Is The Gate, and Narrow The Way

Yahusha is the gate.  We must get past that gate before we can walk in The Way, which is narrow because it is highly-defined with the commands of Yahuah.  Because the Way consists of the instructions for living given by Yahuah, the Way is subsequently ‘narrow”, there is no leeway to this “Way”.

Notice also that “Strait is the gate” comes before “narrow is the Way”, supporting my teaching that Yahusha is the gate and He comes first.  Walking in the commands gains a man nothing without salvation, therefore “narrow is the Way” follows the Gate.  And indeed, Yahusha is the very gate

Now you see precisely what Yahusha means by His statement in Matthew 7.

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; “depart from Me, those working lawlessness!”

Strait and narrow, indeed.  Obey the commands of Yahuah and live!

In the KJV, 1 John 3:4 – “Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

Many, many times I have doubted your words, dear Jerry.
The living Word of our Father Yahu-ah, his firstborn Son.
I am sorry. Thank you for teaching me through your righteous Voice !

Something valuable to read for you, brother Jerry, from your favourite story book of our Hebrew Bible … https://pdf.cgg.org/Berean1252AFVJob-42-1-6.pdf

Much love to your daughter and sons,

Andreas

[…] Jerrysays:February 16, 2021 at 11:12 amThe world is lost and dark, June. Remember my vision of the flaming sword and the words spoken “I am coming to separate the righteous from the unrighteous.” The separation is accelerating and is already obvious. Consider the division between Twitter and Gab. Or between Trump (a praying President) and Biden – a dead soul. Or between you and and Joel Olsteen. But look at the breath-taking number of followers of Joel Olsteen, a pied-piper of satan if there ever was one. https://www.jerrywdavis.com/strait-is-the-gate-and-narrow-is-the-way-and-few-are-they-who-find-it/ […]

As only the great Isaac Watts could say

Broad is the road that leads to death
And thousands walk together there
But wisdom shows a narrower path
With here and there a traveler

Welcome To The War
