Greetings. It has been a difficult trial, and even now I approach my work as one just rising from the depth of the sea, seeing the light at the surface but still some distance from it. I have been in a lonely and deserted place, talking to my Lord and listening to His silence. I praise Him, and He is my deliverer. Where is His strength within me? Where has His Spirit gone?
Yet even in the darkness and silence of my solitude, I know that He is watching me. He observes my actions, he has His mission for me and until I execute as He has shown me, He will stand at a distance.
I have delayed on purpose, friends. I am “dragging my feet”, as people say. Whatever I am about to write is either the Truth which Satan is desperate to conceal, or is an error and I should not teach it. Regardless of the outcome, I cannot turn away from the teaching that I am about to write. I can no more turn my back on this, turn away from this task, than could the men who fought in the Texas Alamo turn away from their responsibility. They did well, but all died. They kept the faith, but were all killed. They prayed and stayed the course, and were over-run and slaughtered.
I am almost afraid of the words that will come from my heart.
For weeks I have carried this spiritual burden, and my fingers are reluctant on my keyboard. They tremble. I hesitate. In the end, we will face the silence of 400 years. A change took place, but there is no canon.
First, I must prove that “Kill and eat” means precisely that. When the Mashiach states plainly “Nothing that goes into a man defiles him“, then nothing we eat defiles us. Yahusha goes on to say that defilement is a condition of the heart, not the stomach. This diverges from the command of Yahuah, who states in Leviticus:
Lev_11:44 For I am Yahuah Elohaykem: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.
Then Yahusha, post -crucifixion, commands to Kepha (Petrus/Peter)
Act 10:9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Kepha went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
Act 10:10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
Act 10:11 And saw את heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
Act 10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
Act 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Kepha; kill, and eat.
Act 10:14 But Kepha said, Not so, Adonai; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.
Act 10:15 And the voice spoke unto him again the second time, What Elohiym has cleansed, that call not common.
Act 10:16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
Act 10:17 Now while Kepha doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Qurnelius had made inquiry for Shim`on’s house, and stood before the gate,
Peter was hungry. It was about the “6th hour”, or noon – lunchtime. The context is eating and the presentation of food. The transport came down, and Kepha was commanded to “kill and eat“. Three times Kepha was commanded to “kill and eat“. Yahusha is no deceiver, nor is He a liar or trickster or fraud. He does not speak in riddles to His people. “Kill and eat” cannot possibly be construed as meaning anything more than “kill and eat“. The stage/context is set with Peter being hungry, and is further strengthened in that it is time for lunch, being the 6th hour. This is all about food.
Also, bear in mind that when Yahusha said “What Elohim has cleansed, that call not common” can only refer to formerly unclean animals, not human beings, because Yahuah specifically declared certain animals unclean, but never said gentiles were unclean, so there was no need for Him to “cleanse” them, no need to declare them suddenly “clean”. The Bible mentions people in general, including Hebrews, being unclean for various sins. He never said gentiles specifically were unclean, no more unclean than the Hebrews.
“Kill and eat” had nothing to do with meeting with the Centurion, because around a year earlier, Peter was standing with Yahusha when another Centurion personally came to Yahusha, just after Yahusha taught the Sermon on the Mount. Kepha (Peter) and the other Talmudim were standing with Yahusha when the Centurion asked Yahusha for help regarding the health of a servant.
All of the Talmudim (the disciples including Peter, the ‘taught ones’) heard Yahusha specifically say “I will come and heal him.”
Mat 8:5 And when Yahusha was entered into Kapharnachum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
Mat 8:6 And saying, Adonai, my servant lies at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.Mat 8:7 And Yahusha said unto him, I will come and heal him.
Mat 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Adonai, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
Mat 8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.
Mat 8:10 When Yahusha heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Amein I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Yashar’el.
This was a huge statement to make, as the Romans were continually executing Jews in the thousands for their rebellion a few years earlier. For Yahusha to flatly state “I will come and heal him” is a shocking concept to the Jewish disciples. Peter would remember this moment his entire life, when God Himself would rush to the house of a Goyim and praise the Goyim for having greater faith than all of Israel.
He already knew through the example of Yahusha that, after the “kill and eat” vision, he was already taught by Yahusha Himself to go and heal any Gentile who sought help. Peter knew what was required. There was no need for the Lord Yahuah to use a lie and deception (you know, Jesus using a “kill and eat” analogy ) to induce Peter into going to a Gentiles house.
“Kill and eat” means there is no food unclean to human beings. Sha’ul says the same teaching. We are not required to eat food formerly specified as unclean, but neither are we defiled from eating it, unless one eats unclean in the presence of one who considers eating unclean to be sinful. And truth is this: It is the very desire to eat unclean that is in itself sinful, because Yahusha states plainly that sin takes place in the heart, at the moment of unlawful desire.
After withdrawing the huge congregation of four-footed and creeping and every other kind of animal, Yahusha matter-of-factly instructed Peter to go with the three men who are looking for him.
19 While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three men are looking for you. 20 So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.”
That is all it took to get Peter to go with them – a simple command, “Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them“. A straight up, straight forward, honest statement from Yahusha with specific instructions to Peter to go with the three men coming to his house. That is how Yahuah operates, and it is the very same with “Kill and eat”.
Going with the gentiles, as Yahusha had already taught all of His Talmudim, was expected. Yahusha set the standard in Matthew 8. Peter already knew that the gentile Centurion was lauded by Yahusha as having greater faith than any in Israel, which included Peter and the rest of the Talmudim. They must have felt the sting of that, being trained from birth to set apart the race of Jews as above all other races of people. Peter would never forget.
Wow, I feel unburdened now. Praising Yahuah in the gift of the tongue He gave me now. There was a strong force standing in my way, preventing me from writing this for nearly a month. It was a dark time. I did not know if the spirit fighting me was of Satan, or if it was Yahuah threatening me with blaspheming.
I feel liberated now. Free. So it is with Yahuah. He wants His story told and Satan wants Yahuah’s story blocked. The lesson here is for each of us to let the Spirit of Yahuah teach us what His Word says and what it means. He calls us to follow Him. He does not call us to follow other men. We are to get our food from Him. So read His Words and serve Him. Let the Spirit of Yahuah teach you and you be brave enough to stand firm in whatever you are taught. Yahuah calls all of us onto our personal path, our personal relationship with Him. We can only succeed by taking those timid steps and standing firm in His Name, trusting that He is teaching YOU.
Shalom Jerry! I will relook at these verses tomorrow morning and comment afterwards. Thank you for sharing! Kathleen
My pleasure, Kat. I was pretty nervous about writing my study today, but I had dreaded it long enough. You will enjoy reading it. It creates some interesting questions, one being “what else changed?” And change happened, for sure. Not all, because “not one jot nor tittle will in any way pass from the instructions until…”
Im not sure i understand. The other video you were glowing with light. Always glad to read what you say.
What do you mean, Karla?
just that this is probably too deep for me. you are on a deeper level.
Karla, I wrote those three articles because Yahusha did say that nothing that a man takes into himself will defile him, that it is the things we think and say and do which defile us. So if no food defiles us, then no food is unclean. Well sister, lemme tell ya, that ruffled some feathers in the Torah house. I was so disappointed that guys I considered friends just turned their backs on me. They had no arguments that proved me wrong, because I only use the plain words in the Holy Bible as my proofs, so they just stopped talking to me. Its probably not that the content is “deep”, but perhaps that it is a teaching that you have never heard before. Yet there it is in your Holy Bible, same as in mine. I have no desire to eat pork, but people who do eat pork are not sinning. The people who judge others for eating pork – those people are sinning. Same thing happened at the Sunday church I used to… Read more »
Yes I like to listen to you and when I saw you in video i could see physically why you had a way with words. Like the abbot from mount athos in repose and I noticed his hands. Same beauty of a person who guides. ty
You’re sweet, Karla. Thank you. I do wish I was as kind and noble as some people think I am. But I’m just a man saved by grace and I love telling His story. Thank you.
