I met with a fine Christian brother recently, a Pastor, and we had a powerful conversation regarding who is “Israel”, and who is expected to obey the commands of Yahuah.
He does not believe that non-Jews are called to obey the commands of Yahuah, stating that all of those laws are “for the Jews”. That Israel is “Jew only” might be more accurate.
If he is correct in that non-Jews are free from the Law, then for us, sin is impossible. Yippee! It is impossible to sin without the Law, because sin is transgression of the law (1 John3:4). And if a gentile cannot sin because gentiles are not required to obey Yahuah, then we can fornicate all we want, right, Pastor? And homosexualism, even in the Pastorate, is OK-fine, right? Because if gentiles are free from obedience to the commands of Yahuah, we don’t even need salvation, since “sin” will apply only to the Jews, Pastor.
By logical extension of the Christian Pastor’s teaching that the Law is for the Jews only, Yahusha (aka ‘Jesus’ to some), then died for the sins of the Jews because the Law only applies to them, you see. Therefore, He did not need to die for the gentiles, who are not required to obey the Laws of Yahuah, according to his doctrine.
But that fails to consider that “there is neither Jew nor Gentile” of Galatians 3:28 – “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
So every brother or sister of Yahusha is the brother or sister of all who follow Him. We are one people who are required to worship Yahuah the same, exact ways, according to Yahuah Himself in Numbers. we are also commanded, in the same breath, to do this as long as we exist as human beings on earth (“throughout your generations”).
Numbers 15:15 As for the congregation, there shall be one statute both for you and for the alien that lives with you, a never ending statute throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the alien be before Jehovah.
Numbers 15:16 There shall be one law and one ordinance both for you and for the alien that lives with you.
In Ephesus, Shaul states: Eph 2:11 Because of this, remember that you, the nations, were then in the flesh (those having been called Uncircumcision by those having been called Circumcision in the flesh made by hands)
Eph 2:12 that at that time you were without Christ (and deeply Pagan-jd), alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers of the covenants of promise (Note that Shaul specifies “covenants of promise” – plural. Two covenants. There is the promise of blessings or curses that Yahuah made to the obedient in Deuteronomy 28 – all about obedience to His commands), having no hope and without Yahuah in the world.
Eph 2:13 But now, in Mashiach Yahusha you who then were afar off, came to be near by the blood of Mashiach Yahusha. (you see, WE moved to “Israel” status-jd)
Eph 2:14 For He is our peace, He making us both one, and breaking down the middle wall of partition in His flesh causing to cease the enmity, the Law of the commandments in decrees, that He might in Himself create the two into one new man, making peace,
Reviewing the definition of “decree”, it defines a law issued by a legal authority or official. These were not the Laws of Yahuah that Paul refers to, but the additional heap of abusive decrees created by the religious leaders in the government of the kingdom of Israel.
So we see that the people of Israel were heavily burdened by the Pharisaical decrees.
The “Law of the commandments in decrees” are the decrees of the Pharisees, the rabbinical councils that heaped law upon law on the backs of the Jews.
The Pharisee’s additional “laws” created tremendous hardship on those who endeavored to honor Yahuah and obey His commands, as they were also driven to obey the decrees of the governing religious men. Yahusha severely condemned them for their actions.
The crucifixion of Yahusha stripped away his flesh, a metaphor for the stripping away of the sin that resides within our own flesh, for Shaul stated that sin resides in the flesh. Skipping the corrupt DNA we all possess, “the flesh” is our mind opposed to Yahuah. We struggle with faith, all of us do.
Yahusha united us (Hebrew and Gentile) in salvation, making us one together.
Does the Law apply to the body (the obedient servants of Yahuah) of Yahusha? Are you kidding? Yahuah wrote the Law, and ends most commands with “throughout your generations” – as long as human beings exist on earth.
“Sin” is transgression of the Law (1 John 3:4). You understand that, right? Sin = law breaking. We all do it. But we who study the Torah break fewer laws of Yahuah than do those who do not study it. We are required to obey Yahuah’s commands.
Yahuah Commands One Law For All
Numbers 15:15 “As for the congregation, there shall be one statute both for you and for the alien that lives with you, a never ending statute throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the non-Hebrew be before Jehovah.
Numbers 15:16 There shall be one law and one ordinance both for you and for the non-Hebrew that lives with you. “
Obviously, plainly, clearly, and from the MOUTH of YAHUAH Himself, there is ONE LAW for ALL who follow Him, and this LAW is “LAW FOREVER, THROUGHOUT YOUR GENERATIONS.”
How clear can it be, Pastor? You can preach the Truth, or you can preach the lie – either way, you are held accountable. If you do not teach the Law, then your congregation lives in perpetual “sin”, as “sin” (a greek word meaning ‘to miss the mark’) is “Transgression of the Law”.
This is true, and your doctrine that the Law is/was for the Jews ONLY is broken by the Words of Yahuah Himself – “There shall be one Law and one ordinance for You and for the alien that lives with you.”
Let us not even consider for one second arguing over the segment “that lives with you”. We live with the Jews and the Jews live with us. Those among all of us who worship Yahuah are subject to the same, exact Law according to the mouth of Yahuah, whom you claim to follow.
1 John 3:4 “Whosoever sins violates the Law: for sin is the transgression of the Law.
By This We Know We Are In Him
1John 2:3 And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commands.
1John 2:4 The one saying, I have known Him, and not keeping His commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that one.
1John 2:5 But whoever keeps His Word, truly in this one the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him.
1John 2:6 The one claiming to rest in Him ought so to walk himself as that One walked.
Let me ask, what kind of “believer” would say that we are not required to obey Yahuah’s commands? WHY WOULDN’T WE PASSIONATELY WANT TO STUDY AND OBEY THEM?
Shaul said it perfectly in Romans Chapter 3, especially in the last verse of the chapter (v31) – “Then is the Law annulled through faith? Let it not be! But we establish Law.
http://biblehub.com/romans/3-31.htm We establish/uphold/do/live by
We ESTABLISH the law – we abide by the Law, we study the Law, and we live by the Torah (the “Instructions”) because we truly worship Yahuah. Obedience is worship. Always remember that.
Every book of Part Two (aka “The ‘New’ Testament” – Part Two: The End as opposed to Part One: The Beginning) explodes in new meaning when read with the understanding that the Law was practiced and taught by ALL of the disciples. To disregard the very words spoken from the mouth of Yahuah is blasphemous, yet nearly every “christian” says the Law is for the Jews only.
But we know that there is neither Jew nor Gentile in Yahusha Mashiak, right?
And we know that Yahusha states that no part of the Law is by any means discarded, not one jot nor tittle…
Matt. 5:18 – For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one. tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law, till all be fulfilled.
The Law IS, because the heaven and earth are STILL HERE (the sky section of heaven). All will be fulfilled someday, but it certainly is not fulfilled yet. The blind and the ignorant state that “Jesus fulfilled everything”, conveniently ignoring the “Till heaven and earth pass” part 🙂
No one wants to obey Yahuah. Romans 8:7 – “The human mind is “enmity towards Yahuah”…
The only reason I want to obey Him is because He really is I AM. Personally, my flesh loves to sin, to break His Laws. I want to do whatever I want to do and disregard the rest. But the thing is, He IS. He proved Himself to me so many times that I cannot possibly turn away from Him.
So listen, if you are a teacher, or if you attend a “christian” church, you still have to obey the commands of Yahuah. Except the slaughtering/sacrificing animals and the judgements like stoning. We do not need a Levitical priesthood to carry out the sacrifices, as Yahusha was the final sacrifice, the perfect sacrifice for our transgressions against the Law of Yahuah.
Also, Yahusha stated Himself “Let he among you who is without sin throw the first stone“, so stoning people is out. Nice, huh? Yahusha knew what hurdles we would face in the future, and He relieved us of the responsibility of executing homosexuals and adulterers and a few other classes of law breakers.
He made it easy for us Torah slackers, so we have no excuse. Study “The Words”. Abide by them and pray for me, that I also will walk the walk.
Closing, remember this: The believing Hebrew person and the grafted in Gentile believers are held to the same standard. You can be certain that 100% of the Hebrews under Moses believed in Yahuah. They were given the Law by Yahuah, and it applied to the non-Hebrews who wanted to worship Yahuah, too.
One Law For All Who Worship Yahuah
Num 15:15 As for the congregation, there shall be one statute both for you and for the alien that lives with you, a never ending statute throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the alien be before Yahuah.
Num 15:16 There shall be one law and one ordinance both for you and for the alien that lives with you.
Guess what? We live with the Hebrews. They are everywhere around us. Just obey Yahuah because His Word is truth.
Congregation
Congregation. This describes the Hebrew people, in its collective capacity, under its peculiar aspect as a holy community, held together by religious, rather than political bonds. Sometimes, it is used in a broad sense as inclusive of foreign settlers, Num_15:15. – Smiths Dictionary
Those Who Know Yahuah Keep His Commands
1 John 2:3 – And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commands.
2:4 The one saying, I have known Him, and not keeping His commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that one.
2:5 But whoever keeps His Word (Deuteronomy is “Dabarim”, Hebrew for “The Words”), truly in this one the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him. (Keeping the Law – that is how we establish our faith – jd)
2:6 The one claiming to rest in Him ought so to walk himself as that One walked. (and Yahusha only did the Will of His father, obedient to every command.-jd)
Ok, last thing. I just cannot help myself, because Part Two is LOADED up with references directly to the Law and continual obedience to the Law.
SIN is defined by the Word as “Breaking a Command of Yahuah”. Therefore, any teacher who does not teach obedience to the Law necessarily teaches lawlessness and rebellion.
The whole “We’re not under the law” lie is based on twisting Romans 6:14 – “For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.‘
Sin was our master because the Law was the yardstick. If you could keep all the Law, you would be perfect and inherit the Promise. But no one could do it. Not that the Law is difficult, as it is not difficult. What is difficult is our flesh wanting to do its own thing and rebel.
We are all vulnerable to the “you, too can be as God” lie from ha shatan , which he spoke to who…?
Eve/Kuah (Kuah means ‘mother of the living’, feminine form of ‘Ki’, which means life.) (aka Ashah – means ‘woman’).
Disobedience to the command of Yahuah is what started this whole fallen condition of man. It was about obedience in the beginning, and it will be about obedience at the end, when the Red Dragon is hunting to ‘kill those who obey the commands of Yahuah and have the testimony of Yahusha“. Rev 12.
Only those who obey His commands and are saved have value to Yahuah, so the ha shatan will attempt to kill us, to get us off the earth and away from others in order that we do not spread the Truth and diminish his power.
Ha Shatan’s goal is D I S O B E D I E N C E.
In the desert, when Yahusha was out there for 40 days, what did ha shatan do? He tempted Yahusha to DISOBEY the Word. And the replies of Yahusha are below…
- ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’
- ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.
- ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.
Had Yahusha complied on any request from the satan, He would have violated a command of Yahuah. Do you see that? One act of disobedience would have doomed all mankind. The satan went for our global destruction right from the beginning, with Kuah/Eve and with Yahusha. Rebellion is his goal.
1 John 3:4-9 Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that that One was revealed that He might take away our sins, and sin is not in Him. Everyone remaining in Him does not practice lawlessness. Everyone practicing lawlessness has not seen Him, nor known Him. Little children, let no one lead you astray; the one practicing righteousness is righteous, even as that One is righteous. The one practicing lawlessness is of the devil, because the devil disobeyed from the beginning. For this the Son of God was revealed, that He might undo the works of the devil. Everyone who has been begotten of God obeys His commands, because His seed abides in him, and he is not able to disregard the Law, because he has been born of God. By this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed: Everyone not practicing righteousness is not of God; also the one not loving his brother.
There you have it. Truth.

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and their doctrine relates to the ideas in this post in a very interesting way (which is why I’m typing this). We believe that when one is baptized, whether they are an Israelite by blood or not, that they become a member of the house of Israel. Matthew 3:9 “And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.” After being born again the new Israelite is then entitled to receive a “Patriarchal Blessing” from a Patriarch (a priesthood office held by about 3500 men worldwide). The primary purpose of the patriarchal blessing is to reveal which house of Israel the person belongs to. Most of the Isrelites on the American continent are from the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh. These tribes are regarded as having the responsibility to gather Israel in the last days. Deuteronomy 33:13-17 “…with them he shall… Read more »
JV, you make some assertions that I must respond to, but not today. I will respond to the entirety of your comment in a few days, because I’m going to have to prove some things and am cramped for time today. Your last paragraph presents a growing maturity and understanding of the Word and the nature of the Christ. The Law does not save anyone and was never intended to. The Law/s are instructions for living on accord with God, and addherence to His commands brings prosperity as it is the only form of worship Ani accepts. Yes, the part of the Holy Bible where Yahusha (aka ‘Jesus’) resides is rich in good teaching and mercy. It is quite powerful. To understand it better, please review the short papers on Key Words (like ‘righteous’ and ‘faith’ and others), as those words have very significant and specific meaning, Biblically. When you understand that “righteousness” specifically means adherence to the commands of Ani, then the meaning of teachers in the Christ-centered section of the Word becomes quite… Read more »
Hey Jerry I hope your well great post I bet your pastor friend mentioned grace which proves your point if there’s no law or sin why would there be grace. It seems in mainstream Christianity it’s the blind leading the blind.
Very detailed, thank you ; however, Matt. 5: 18 had me from the get go.
Thank you, Jay. I tell you brother, only a few can “see”. It is a narrow band of believers who can receive these Truths. I wrote this teaching specifically for my former Pastor, and he has not read it, yet. I will probably take him a paper copy next week. But those who will see, Yahuah will deliver. All we can do is study and honor His Word, loving our neighbors all along the way. Jay, very few people receive the Truth, that is why, also in Matthew, 7:14 – “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” – Both “strait” and “narrow”, which are the most common translations, pertain to a tight, constrictive pathway. It squeezes us, it confines us closely to a very specific way. This points directly to Torah: the law and the prophets. We are blessed, Jay, blessed beyond anything we can conceive. Although I am not in any way worthy of life, He called me, and He… Read more »
