Editors note: Below is my first post on this site, and its from 2017. It tells of an incident between my former mother-in-law and myself over the issue of Christmas. She was an exceptionally rude, bitter anti-christ sort of woman, but now He has allowed her to become trapped in Alzheimer’s. I hurt for her because her future is very bad, but she never wanted to hear Truth and only wanted to manipulate and control others. In this episode, she is stirring up trouble because she learned that we no longer did the pagan “christmas” thing. So she came outside where I was working to tighten me up.
“Yesterday I was putting up some Christmas lights by wrapping them around a very large star, which is made of welded rebar. This star is about seven feet tall and seven feet wide, and I wrapped it with two boxes of twinkly little lights that gave me four runs of lighting per line of rebar, so basically four times all around the thing.
Pretty cool.
While I was working on identifying a failed bulb, an extended family member, visiting for the Thanksgiving week, made some comment about Christmas. I don’t recall what it was, but I replied, still facing my work, that “We don’t celebrate Christmas. Its a pagan holiday and has nothing to do with Yahusha.”
Guess what happened next?
This person stormed off for the front door ANGRY at me, saying “I feel sorry for your kids”. I bit my lip and did not reply “I feel sorry for your kids”, because her kids are in their 40’s and still do not have a right relationship with Yahuah.
But it was not over. She shortly returned after going inside and telling her daughter how rude I had been. Fortunately, my 10 yr-old son was outside with me and he heard the whole exchange. But my wife stormed out with our opinionated guest right behind her, like a parasitic pilot fish attached to the butt of a shark. She was steaming mad. Its funny, except my wife immediately attacked me for being rude, although she had not been present, and she had to bark in typical disrespect in order to gain the approval of this offended guest.
Our guest didn’t want to hear about the pagan creation of “Christmas”, that it is a renaming of Saturnalia, a drunken orgy of Roman times, and that the world church, the “Universal” church – the “Catholic Church” actually created a “birthday of Jesus” and simply said the date of His birth was December 25th.
We are instructed in Acts 15:29 to abstain from “whoredom”. Abstaining from whoredom means that we do not worship false gods, for “whoredom” and “harlotry” are the acts of we human beings turning to any other god and choosing to worship that god rather than obey the Truth.
Today, 2022, that same woman is restricted to a wheel chair in a hospice care facility, unable to think coherent thoughts or even stand up. She is trapped within her own mind and she devolved into this condition while simultaneously rejecting the offer of life from Yahusha. It is sad to look at her, knowing that forever, for her, will be the worst outcome imaginable.
Pray for her. Pray that she will, for at least one moment of clarity, accept His offer. We want all to walk among the Righteous, as many as we can save.
why were you putting up Christmas lights if you don’t participate in Christmas?
My X likes the lights. Lights don’t condemn anyone either. But as for the whole tree thing, its pagan. But trees don’t send anyone to hell, either.

This is true. I recommend reading Lew Whites book “Fosillized Customs” I downloaded a copy from his Site.
Uh yeah, Lew is one of my heroes. When I was tapped for Torah, I spent four or five solid months, five days per week, five hours per day at my local library reading his information and taking a book full of notes. And I mean a blank journal with 150 or so pages. Sure wish I could still do that. Say Brendon, while you are active on the Fossilized site, I am looking for a digital copy of the Introduction to his BYNV bible. I own a copy of the Book, but I need a digital copy of the Introduction to give to people. Its a fascinating lesson in itself and will turn many more people on to the BYNV. Did you escape the floods?
I’ve prayed for your marriage too. I’m sorry things didn’t work out between you and her, but am glad you’re doing well and have peace. Truth is, I don’t celebrate Christmas either. I’ve put up a tree one time. Me and my kids cut down a 6 ft. East Texas pine in 2008 w a Swiss army knife, lol. It was the ugliest, baldest tree. But a good memory now. I’m hoping there was a moment in your mother in laws life where she accepted the Lord.
